Hi there Went to use Microsoft word for Mac 2011 today and the keyboard was not working, couldn't type anything however I was able to copy and paste into the document. I also opened up Excel and Powerpoint, same thing. Tried various online forums for some answers but failed to find anything. Thought that perhaps i may need to update as I recently updated to Yosemite, but every time I click on 'Upgrade Office', a Microsoft Error Report comes up instead, saying it encountered a problem and needs to close. Any advice would be appreciated!
Really need to start working on my assignment! Closing down Word and re-opening it only worked temporarily for me. Since I couldn't stand to keep closing and re-opening Word every few minutes, I went searching Apple forums for a better solution. (Unfortunately, I lost track of where I found this solution, so I can't direct you to the original post/instructions - sorry!) Apparently, hitting the Option key 5 times will turn off your keyboard -- and hitting it another 5 times will turn it back on.
Hi, I'm running Microsoft Office 2011 for mac, version 14.3.6 on current 27' iMac, OS X 10.8.4. Since the last update of M$ Office last month(?), every time I open Office I keep getting asked to enter my product key, sign into existing Office 365 subscription, or trying Office 365.
So, even though I don't remember hitting the Option key a bunch of times, apparently I must have since hitting it 5 times turned my keyboard back on! The original poster also suggested turning off that toggle feature so that you don't inadvertently turn off the keyboard again. (Disable the toggle feature AFTER you have turned your keyboard back on.) Here's how: System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad > Options > Press the Option key five times to toggle Mouse Keys > OK. Hope that helps!
